Born in Halifax, raised in Cape Breton, Austin was raised playing sports, especially golf. Often seen at his home course at Dundee Resort as early as 5am squeezing a round in before school with his father. He spent his teenage years working at two golf clubs as well as Golf Town. His commitment to the game was evident. From competing in junior competitions to this years PGA TOUR Canada's PEI Open Austin is a an athlete before a coach but puts his full effort into both.

His experience coaching hockey and shadowing with PGA teaching professionals over the years has prepared him to deliver educated advice and expert solutions to help any golfer develop the skills necessary to walk away a better golfer. Austin's accomplishments in golf are only just beginning, within the last year he successfully caddied for Daylan McNamara's Passed Play Ability Test to join the PGA of Canada as well as helped create the Hole9Golf Junior Development Program. In 2021, Austin successfully passed his PAT to join the PGA of Canada and became a TPI Certified Level 2 Golf Coach. He is well versed in both Trackman and Flightscope Technology and is qualified to deliver top tier coaching to golfers of any skill level.
